Children of Prisoners Europe : ウィキペディア英語版 | Children of Prisoners Europe
Children of Prisoners Europe (formerly European Committee for Children of Imprisoned Parents or EUROCHIPS) is a European-wide network acting to bring children with imprisoned parents to the forefront of social, political, and judicial policy, protect the rights of these children and help safeguard their psychological, emotional, and social development. This organization is based in Montrouge, France. ==History== Within the European Union, nearly 800,000 children are separated from their parents yearly due to parental incarceration. Children of Prisoners Europe was created in 1993 by the combined effort of Relais Enfants-Parents and the Bernard van Leer Foundation. The purpose of this organization is to create a center for research and gather information concerning the condition of children who have imprisoned parents, in part due to the lack of attention given to the youth affected by this issue.
